Day 15 #Blogyourbrand Why We Love Soap (And You should, Too!) me soap 2 Why do I love handmade soaps? Well a few reasons.
  1. Cold process soap does not strip your skin of its natural oils.
  2. I love the scents!
  3. There are no harsh chemicals like store brand soap (Store brand is not really soap, it is a chemical detergent that can be harsh on your skin).
  4. It makes my skin soft and I do not get bumps on them.
  5. I know exactly what is in it.
  6. It make me happy, and I believe it can make you happy too. :)
  7. We use only the best oils and butters for the bars.
  8. I love the pretty swirls
soap2   Handcrafted Cold Process ~ soapmaking when you mix fixed oils (like Olive, Coconut and Palm) with an alkali (Sodium Hydroxide or Lye). The result is a chemical process called saponification, where the composition of the oils change with the help of the lye to create a bar of delicious for your body soap.soap3 [caption id="attachment_1087" align="aligncenter" width="300"]soap 1 More Swirls[/caption] You need Lye to make true soap  I know lye sounds scary, but all the caustic qualities of the lye are removed during the saponification process. When the lye comes in contact with the oils or fats.It is that chemical process that changes it from fat and lye into soap! The type of oils and fats used make a difference in how hard or soft the soap bar ends up being, and how well it lathers. We use coconut oil to create a good lather and olive oil for dry skin. After the bars are poured into their molds, they sit for 24-48 hours and then cut and placed onto a rack to "cure" which takes 4 to 6 weeks. The bars are on racks so they can get air all around and so they can cure evenly. The longer it sits the milder the soap. curing soap   Handcrafted soap are not just for your hand or your body. Soapmakers can make solid shampoos with hair conditioning oils like castor and avocado. Here are pictures on ours.shampoo bar We also make face bars which are made with white tea extract and apricot kernel seeds to give a good scrubby bar and a lavender mint charcoal bar for oily skin.! So as you can see we love handcrafted soaps and we hope you do too! If you never have tried any stop by for a sample. Thanks for stopping by ~Holly

Your descriptions are the reason I started buying the handmade soaps. Pampering and moisturizing it’s what we women are all about. Now I love making myy own. I do still buy others on occasion and enjoy them. I love following other soapers blogs, posts and pictures. It a bubbly life!
